Today’s Scripture: Daniel 4:35
“He does according to his will . . . among the inhabitants of the earth.”
I am so blessed with my devotion tonight. But let me tell you a little story before I have gotten myself into reading today. It was funny how God took me from watching my favorite shows on replay online; to seeing celebrity news and finally… to different testimonies of Filipino celebrities on how they came to know Christ and how they stay connected with the Lord. Their stories are amazing and very inspiring! God has just proven once again that He really makes His gospel known to people and penetrate the Word of God even in the entertainment business! I mean we need Jesus’ lovers in this part of the business. We all know that show business has got lots of temptations going around. But these Christian celebrities, (i.e. Piolo Pascual, Sam Milby, Danica Sotto, Toni G., Yeng Constantino, to name a few…) through them and their lives, they honor God by living pleasing lives to The Lord. And they have been and are a blessing that they also are vocal of their faith and are grounded in the Word of God.
On the other hand, one known common girl, who was dubbed by the netizens as the “amalayer girl” is what got my attention the most. I mean, all Christians have their own unique stories as to how they knew and accepted Jesus Christ in their lives. But this girl, she rose to fame in a very different way. She was bashed on social media [facebook, youtube, twitter] for being seen in a video of getting in a rift with an LRT security guard. Her story may have broken her heart and her life. And even have gotten into a depression state. But these were all God’s way of saving her. It was those loving Christians on social media as well who were the instruments of her journey into knowing Christ. And from then on, she led a Godly lifestyle. How good is the Lord that she is now a preacher of God’s life changing Word. Hallelujah!!!
Reflection:
Tonight, God taught me that I have to enlarge my horizons. I felt compelled into praying for the salvation of my neighbors, the people in my community, to my country and to all the people of the world. Because we tend to think that God’s love is always personal. Yes, true. But we must also look beyond ourselves on how God works in other people’s lives though it doesn’t really affect us directly. Children of God must broaden their horizons for the advancement of His kingdom and be used for the work.
As what Daniel 4:35 says,
“He does according to His will . . among the inhabitants of the earth.”
Amen!
God bless you, my dear reader. Please know that JESUS LOVES YOU!!!
