Have you ever imagined or even think about yourself in the middle of work that you find yourself attending to get help for your child? I am not a mom yet but this particular voice clip in Youtube made my heart felt the heavy pain for the mother.
This is a recorded call of Bruce to 911, who was shot and battling with life and death. Surprisingly, of all the call agents that could attend to him, who would’ve thought that it would be his mom who’s at the end of the line? Clearly, with Bruce’s situation, his mother already knew how long will the help will ever come to rescue her dying son. When every minutes pass and his son dies anytime soon. And this what really pained me while listening to them.
But having got to hear the conversation, the mother did not think about anything else but to tell her son first to talk to Jesus and believe that he will be saved. They exchanged “I love you’s” to each other.
His mother knew very well that it is the best help that she could do to her son. Her voice was so calm yet I could feel how shocked, saddened and sorrowed she was deep inside her heart. But you know, I admired her for the work she did. True, that it is only Jesus who can save her son in that very moment. And she did not wasted the time anymore. Well, the Lord is really good that her son survived and underwent surgery.
Look how life can be. We really do not know what could happen to us in an hour or tomorrow. But only God knows. And it is only through Jesus that we will be saved.
I reflected on this so to remind each one of us. Let us not waste time and be comfortable with our everyday routine. But rather always be of connection and relationship with the Lord so that we would always be ready for whatever can happen. Confess and repent at all times. Fire that faith. Read your Bible. Pray everyday. And be glad for your salvation. Also, lets not miss the chance to be the instrument for someone we dearly love when time seems to end soon for them. Amen.
